Mohammad Shahzad gave Afghanistan a brisk start and hammered a 19-ball 44 in chase of 210.

Chris Morris helped South Africa strike back with two quick wickets but Afghanistan came back strongly to stay in the chase.

Tahir bowled economically in the middle and picked up a couple of wickets to swing the momentum back in South Africa's favour.

In the end, the Proteas registered a 37-run win.
